Jenny Lynn, Museum Educator

Jenny has been part of the education staff since November, 2006. She is from Fair Hill, Maryland; her family has owned and operated a sailboat hardware store in Ocean City, New Jersey for the past 60 years. Jenny has a B.A. in history from Sweet Briar College in Virginia. She has a wide variety of interests, including Irish step dancing; American Revolutionary War, Civil War, and WWII re-enactments; and sewing period reproductions of 18th and 19th century clothing. Her grandmother was a U.S. Coast Guard SPAR Yeoman first class; Jenny has her grandmother's uniform and other military memorabilia. Jenny enjoys playing the guitar, tin whistle, concertina, and trombone.

Gail Compton, Naturalist

Gail has been with the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Museum since 2000. She was born in Tampa, Florida and raised in Orlando. She received her B.A. in Liberal Arts from Stetson University and her Ph.D. in English Literature from the University of Florida. She taught at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, then at Flagler College beginning in 1974. Gail is now retired from teaching, but has always been active in naturalist programs in area parks, schools, and for area organizations. She is certified in the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission program, Project WILD, and in the Coastal Habitats of the Florida Master Naturalist Program. Her interests are writing, reading, photography, native wildflowers, and, as always, exploring Florida habitats. Gail has written a weekly column for the St. Augustine Record for 17 years, called "Wildlife Discoveries."
